That's exactly what happened on the wedding day of Jen &amp; Gennaro at Rios Lodge, located in Limon, Costa Rica on the Pacuare river. This day was not just about exchanging vows, but also about adding adventure to an elopement and sharing laughter, which made it even more unique.

From the moment I arrived at the hotel, I knew this wedding was going to be different. With the magnificent backdrop of lush Costa Rican flora, the Rios Lodge offered a perfect blend of elegance and nature's beauty. Nestled in the heart of the jungle, the lodge provided an intimate setting that was perfect for the special day.

Jen &amp; Gennaro, a couple whose love story started at the same location where they decided to get married 10 years after meeting, started off thinking about eloping, but had the flexibility of having people attend the ceremony as well and before they knew it there were about 20 of their closest friends there with them to witness the day. After their wedding ceremony, the couple, along with their guests, went tubing on the river. It was a sight to behold, with everyone letting their hair down, embracing the laid-back vibes, and simply having fun. It was a perfect example of how a wedding day can be tailored to reflect the personality and spirit of the couple.

This wasn't just a wedding. It was a celebration of love, life, and joy. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, cheers, and an infectious sense of camaraderie. Every moment was a testament to Jen &amp; Gennaro's love, not just for each other but also for life.

As a lover of the great outdoors, there's something truly magical about spending time in our national parks. The towering trees, the rustle of wildlife, the ever-changing landscape - it's nothing short of a masterpiece. These experiences have taught me one important thing - adventure is not just about thrill and adrenaline, but it's about discovering the beauty in the unexplored and the joy in the unexpected.

Now, you might be thinking, what does this have to do with weddings? Well, my experiences in the wild have shaped my perspective on capturing moments, especially the most special ones like <a href="https://www.santiagoaguilar.photography/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">weddings in Costa Rica</a>. Just like in a national park, a wedding is an adventure - a beautiful journey filled with joy, surprises, and unforgettable moments.

When I'm in the wild, in this case, Glacier National Park, every click of my camera is dictated by what I'm seeing in nature. The rising sun, the blooming flowers, the playful animals - everything has a story to tell. This unpredictability is what makes it so exciting. It's the same with weddings. Every couple has a unique story, every moment is filled with raw and genuine emotions. It's an adventure of its own, waiting to be captured in its true essence.

In the wild, I've learned to be patient, to wait for that perfect moment when the sunlight hits the mountain peak just right or when a bird takes flight. Similarly, back in Costa Rica during a wedding, the perfect moments aren't always the most obvious ones. It&rsquo;s not just about the first kiss or the first dance. It&rsquo;s about capturing the teary-eyed mother, the proud father, or the laughing bridesmaids.

Just as I respect the wilderness while exploring it, I respect the wholesomeness of the wedding day. I approach it with the same level of excitement and reverence, prepared to capture the beauty, the emotions, and the adventure that the day entails.

We often hear people say 'life is short', but when I look at my 96-year-old grandmother, I can't help but think, 'life is long, and full of stories'. Every wrinkle on her face, every twinkle in her eye, carries tales of love, laughter, struggle, and resilience. And it's through her stories, that I am constantly reminded of the importance of documenting our own lives. Here are some thoughts I refrelected on while taking photos of my family when they came to visit <a style="color: rgb(35, 111, 161);" href="https://www.santiagoaguilar.photography/">Costa Rica</a>.

My grandmother, a beacon of wisdom, has lived through several historical periods, from World War II to the invention of the internet. She carries within her a wealth of knowledge, experiences, and stories that are nothing short of a living history book. Her vivid recollections of the past, coupled with the wisdom that comes from living such a long life, makes it so that every time she visits us in Costa Rica, a storytelling adventure. But more importantly, her stories serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of documenting our own lives.

The thing is, life has a tendency to move at a breakneck speed. We get caught up in our daily routines, chasing deadlines, and before we know it, years have passed. We tend to forget the little moments that make life beautiful and meaningful. This is where the importance of documenting our lives comes into play. It's through photographing our experiences that we can truly appreciate the unique journey that each of us is on.

I am reminded to take photos, in order to one day look back and remember the feelings of the moment and the stories behind them. It's a way of acknowledging and celebrating the uniqueness of life. My grandmother's stories are a treasure trove of life lessons, and through documenting my own life, I hope to create a treasure trove of my own.

In a world that's constantly changing, our stories, experiences, and perspectives are the only things that truly belong to us. They are our legacy. And by documenting our lives, we can ensure that this legacy may be passed on.
